The Story
Knit 4: Fixing Mistakes gives you the confidence to keep going when something goes off track. We all make knitting mistakes — and learning how to recognize and fix them is one of the most empowering skills you can add to your knitting toolkit.
In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to fix dropped stitches, change knits to purls, un-knit (we call it “tinking”), and plain old ripping back (known as “frogging”).
Whether you’re working on scarves, sweaters, socks, or anything in between, these skills will help you fix mistakes without fear!
What you’ll learn
- How to recognize common mistakes in your knitting
- Techniques for fixing dropped stitches
- How to tink (knit-undo) and frog (rip back) safely
Materials
50 grams of smooth, light-colored worsted-weight yarn and size 8 needles; size E or F crochet hook.
Homework
Cast on 24 stitches and work Stockinette stitch for approximately 4 inches. Keep stitches on the needle and yarn attached to the ball.
Skill level
This class is for graduates of Knit 2 and those who are comfortable knitting and purling.
