A classic captain’s hat knit in Cardiff Cashmere Classic!
The Captain’s Hat has a wide, double-fold brim for extra warmth, and we used an Italian Cast On to create a crisp, polished edge. Our pattern includes a cast-on tutorial link, but if it’s not for you, a long-tail cast-on will work as well!
Written for 3 sizes, the pattern features 4 evenly spaced decreases per round for a close-fitting shape. The brown version shown is the small, with the brim just covering the tops of the ears in true mariner style. The blue version is the medium size with a deeper crown for total ear coverage.
You’ll need:
- 2 skeins of Cardiff Cashmere for all sizes.
- US 3 + 5 16-inch circular needles
- US 5 double-pointed needles
- US 1 16-inch circular needle for Italian Cast On
